Magistrates' Tribute at Medal Presentations
Fifty-six special constables of the Ilkeston Petty Sessional division were called on by Superintendent C. Walker at Ilkeston petty sessions to-day to receive medals for their services.
Superintendent Walker said that in accordance with the Home Office regulation, special constables who had served for nine years were entitled to a medal.
Seven of the men present had served 19 years, and were entitled to a special bar.
The Rev. A. Copley, chairman of the Bench, expressed the magistrates’ high appreciation of the service rendered, in war time especially, of the special constabulary.
About half of those entitled to medals were present in court to receive them. The complete list 1s:
