Annual Gathering of the Congregation

STANTON-BY-DALE.

On Thursday evening the annual gathering of the members of the congregation attending the parish church of Stanton-by-dale, consisting of the Rector, the Rev. W. Fox, M.A., rural dean; the curate, the Rev. E. R. Newman; the churchwardens, Sunday school teachers, the members of the choir, and others, assembled at the club room, where a dinner was provided for the gentlemen, and tea, etc., for the ladies. In the school-room afterwards, dancing, games, etc., were resorted to with thorough zest. The entertainment, which was provided by the rector, was heartily enjoyed. The proceedings, which terminated at a late hour, were brought to a conclusion by the country dance, Sir Roger de Coverley. A cordial vote of thanks to the rector was proposed by the curate, the Rev. E. R. Newman, and seconded by Mr. Repton.
